Internships at The Art Studio provide students with valuable hands on experience in a teaching studio using a variety of teaching skills through observing and assisting Art Class and Summer Art Camp teachers. Interns will learn about the Summer Art Camp program for children and teens ages 5 and up. Interns will help facilitate studio activities, art projects, games, and sensory explorations. At the end of the summer, under the guidance of the Studio Director, interns will work to plan and lead a lesson at a camp using what they have learned over the course of the internship. Commitment is required for eight weeks.
Purpose: To assist the Studio Director, Camp Coordinator and Teachers in the preparation, administration and facilitation of our art classes and art camp program.
Length: Approximately 8 weeks for Summer Semester.
Terms: Summer (June -July)
Education: undergraduate or graduate student

Hours: Flexible 10-30 hours per week
Salary: $1150 stipend

Assist with day-to-day camp functions, helping teachers with set-up and clean-up, student check in, and pickup, and interacting with parents and caregivers
Encourage students with art projects, modeling skills and helping problem solve when needed
Under the guidance of the Studio Director and class/Camp Teacher to plan and lead a lesson at a camp
Represent The Art Studio in a professional manner and appearance
Open to college students; may count as community hours or class credit, subject to school approval.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
Previous experience working with children or in art education
