SUMMER ART CAMPS

Summer Art Camps offers students a unique experience with a wide variety of mediums in fine art, learning about artists from around the world, art concepts and innovative techniques. Camps provides a thorough and comprehensive learning experience which include independent work as well as hands on instruction.  Space is limited so you are encouraged to register early. Bring a snack and a water bottle.

  • Open to rising 1st graders and up.

  • Camps are Monday - Friday 9am-noon or 1pm-4:00.

  • Exposure to drawing, painting, printmaking, mixed media and sculpture and more!

  • Students will complete 4 works of art.

  • A virtual art show will be sent on Friday for parents to view their child’s work.

  • All supplies are provided.

Chopped Art Challenge

  • 1st - 6th Grade

  • June 7-11 FULL!

  • 9am-noon

  • $160 + 20 materials fee

Artists, open your baskets! Inspired by Food Network's hit show, "Chopped," artists will face several art challenges during the week. Artists will be given the same main art "ingredients" and will have access to supplies in the art "pantry" to help them create many art pieces during the week. Never a dull moment with this fun art-inspiring camp.

Midsummer Magic

Puppet Camp

Puppets Galore! Puppeteers will learn about a variety of puppet types and how to make a tabletop puppet theater. Campers will use an assortment of materials to create a rod puppet, shadow puppets, and more. Puppetry making is perfect for young makers who love building things and making up stories and imaginative games.

Meet the Masters

Spend a week with some of the art world greats! Learn about Monet's brush strokes and Mondrian's color grid techniques. Create whimsical paintings like Marc Chagall where everyday objects seem to defy the laws of gravity. From impression and cubism to collage and mixed media, students will work with an array of materials to create masterpieces of their own!

Teens Summer Studio

Teens have the opportunity to discover several different artistic pursuits through this art intensive camp! Express yourself through drawing, painting, printmaking and batik (above image) and experiment with art materials including paint, oil pastels, charcoal, wax and more. Students will also explore their creative voice through exercises in expression and creativity.

Jumanji Escape

  • 1st - 6th Grade

Take a journey through the Jumanji game as we brave the different elements of the African Jungle, from snakes to monsoons. Artists will roll the dice and find their art skills are put to the test as we try to make it through the game before it is too late! Each student will create what they encounter.

Abstract vs. Realism

Art can be interpreted so differently! We will explore the difference and similarities of abstract and realist art and learn about some the great artists that incorporated both techniques in their work. Artists will use that knowledge and to create a piece that incorporates both to create something new and exciting with a modern approach.

Art! Art! Art! From drawing to painting, from sculpture to collage – this camp will cover it all! Explore their creativity, learn new artistic methods and make new friends. Kids will be amazed at what they can create and bring home!

Drawing with Thread

  • 3rd - 8th Grade

  • July 12-16

  • 1pm-4:00

  • $160 + $15 materials fee

 

Gain an overview of embroidery techniques including selecting materials, pattern design, preparing your hoop, and “drawing” with thread using the satin stitch. Students will follow an embroidery pattern or design their own. Embroidery takes time and shouldn’t be rushed. Time outside of class may be needed to finish your work.

Rebellion vs. The Empire

Calling all Jedis, droids, bounty hunters or those joining the dark side! The galaxy of fun awaits! We are plunging into the world of Star Wars! Pick a side and draw, paint and collage your favorite characters or planets and maybe even create some new ones! Jump into light speed and sign up before it’s too late!

Teen: Paint & Print

  • 7th Grade & up

Test the boundaries between accidental and intentional art through various painting and printmaking processes. Explore several painting and printmaking techniques such as impasto painting, monoprinting and relief printmaking. Each student will create several unique print editions and a painting on canvas as you learn what it’s like to work as a studio artist. Experimentation encouraged!

Jurassic Art Camp

Transform into Paleontologist and learn about different types of dinosaurs and their history along the way. We will even create their own type of Dino. This week will include 2D and 3D projects that included painting, printmaking, clay and more!

Castle Creators

  • 1st - 6th Grade

Here ye, here ye! All are invited to come and create the most enchanted castle in all the land! Each creator will receive a wooden castle and spend each day designing, decorating, creating furniture and scenery, and of course designing all the fantastical creatures and people who live in the castle! By the end of the week, your child will have their very own customized wooden castle and a complete story about their kingdom!

Cancellation Policy:

  • $50 nonrefundable deposit and supply fee are due at the time of registration or you may pay in full. Balances are due on or before the first day of camp. Full payment includes a $50 nonrefundable deposit. In the event of a cancellation, the remainder of your payment minus the $50 deposit will be refunded up to 7 days prior to the start of camp. Within 7 days of the camp start date your payment is non-refundable. Cancellations must be received in writing, via email, up to 7 days prior to the first day of camp. Cancellations within 7 days of the camp start date will not be refunded or credited towards another camp or class. Additionally, any days missed during the camp week, even in the event of unexpected illness, will not be refunded and make up classes are not offered.

  • A minimum of 5 students must be enrolled in order for camp to be held. You will be notified if your camp might not run due to low enrollment and refunded your payment.
